Yennifer Castillo is an experienced educator, community advocate, and lifelong champion for children. As a high school science teacher, multilingual educator, and mentor to dozens of students across Tallahassee, she has built a career centered on service, equity, and opportunity. From launching her College Essentials Basket Drive in 2018 to creating safe spaces for English language learners and leading the Precious Ivies mentorship program, Yennifer’s work reflects her belief that every child deserves the tools, support, and encouragement to thrive.

A proud graduate of Florida A&M University and a current master’s student in Space Studies at the University of North Dakota, she brings both academic excellence and real-world classroom experience to the forefront of her advocacy. Her teaching career, community leadership, and personal story have shaped her drive to one day pursue public office and represent students at the decision-making table.

While this is not an active or announced campaign, Yennifer is laying the groundwork for a future run for a seat on the School Board, inviting the community to learn more about her journey, her values, and her vision for stronger schools.

Above all, Yennifer is guided by one core principle: when we invest in kids, we transform communities.

"When you teach one child, you change a life.

When you support all children, you change a community.”

— Marian Wright Edelman
